This new weblog design has been a little bit of a long-term mission, so it’s good to see it lastly go stay.
As that is virtually the final put up of 2022 (we’re not doing a Newsround this week), it’s actually a brand new search for the brand new 12 months!
Warning readers about outdated posts
One massive motive for the change is that I wished to have one thing to point out how outdated the posts are to warn folks.
This weblog goes again to February 2006, and so lots of the posts are explaining legal guidelines which are actually outdated. Though there’s a warning within the footer to folks saying you shouldn’t depend on outdated posts being appropriate, I felt there wanted to be one thing else.
Impressed by an analogous characteristic within the Guardian Newspaper, we now have some yellow highlighted textual content above all posts that are older than six months, simply saying this.
For instance, in case you are in Wales, the regulation modified dramatically on 1 December 2022, and it seems as if the regulation might change equally dramatically in England over the following few years.
This meant transferring the positioning to a brand new host, because the final host didn’t help this. So whereas we had been at it, my net designer Gill and I believed we might refresh the design a bit! Holding after all, the orange!
The Weblog Collection
One different factor is that doing this has enabled me to type out the collection and provides extra entry to them within the collection hyperlink above. A few of them are on the drop-down menu, others will probably be discovered on the web page when you click on the Collection hyperlink (or click on right here).
I’ll dig round previously posts and see if I can resurrect a few of the others.
Welcome to the brand new look weblog!
So right here you might be. A brand new design for 2023 come a number of weeks early! I hope you prefer it!
